◆ 수사

수사에는 개수를 나타내는 기수와 순서를 나타내는 서수가 있는데 모두 형용사의 범주에 속한다.

(1) 기수

• 1 -- one
• 2 -- two
• 3 -- three
• 4 -- four
• 5 -- five

• 13 -- thirteen

  참고 : 수의 단위인 hundred, thousand, million, billion, trillion 등은 그 앞에 복수의 수가 붙어도 복수형으로 하지 않는다.

  • two hundred

  • five billion
  • six trillion

  참고 : 수의 단위인 hundred, thousand, million 등이 복수형으로 쓰이면「수백」,「수천」, 「수백만」의 뜻을 갖는다.

  • Hundreds of children will be here. (수백 명의 아이들이 이곳에 올 것이다.)
  • Thousands of people live near the lake. (수천 명의 사람들이 그 호수 근처에 산다.)
  • Millions of computers have been sold out this year. (올해 수백만 대의 컴퓨터가 팔렸다.)
